Piezo Buzzers From Challenge Electronics Provide Ear-Piercing Audio OutputDeer Park, NY – Challenge Electronics, Inc. today introduced a new series of piezo buzzers that provide optimum sound output in a compact part. The CPB40A09-2.8 is a 9V device that weighs 13g. It measures at 40 mm (W) x 20 mm (H) and operates at a resonant frequency of 2.8 KHz. Sound pressure levels at 9VDC are 100dBA @ 3M. These buzzers feature a solid-state construction with a built-in drive circuit and no electromagnetic (EMC) field. They can be wave soldered for automated board placement. Challenge said the devices have been cleared for use in instruments and equipment designed for medical and security applications including air gas monitors and smoke alarms.
